What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is the activity of amusing, diverting or distracting the mind. The word “entertainment” is derived from the Latin intertenere, and its Indo-European root is ten. The prefix inter means “inside,” and the suffix tenere indicates that something is being held inside. It is a broad category that encompasses activities in many media, including motion picture, television, literature, music, live performance and branded entertainment. Entertainment often hits on themes the human brain was evolved to react deeply to, such as social backstabbing and murders. It also stimulates the brain to realease seratonin and dopamine. This is why a lot of people feel better after watching TV or movies.
