Entertaiment
From a social standpoint, entertainment provides an outlet for many of our societal needs. It may be as simple as a quiet dinner for two; as grand as a ballroom party, or as far-reaching as a global media spectacle. Entertainment is a form of expression, and as such it is often influenced by culture and language. It also evolves, and it has been demonstrated that familiar forms have an amazingly broad potential for creative remix. The word “entertainment” derives from the Latin intertenere, derived from the prefix inter meaning inside, and the suffix ten, an Indo-European root meaning to hold or stretch.
