Entertaiment is a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience or gives pleasure and delight. It can be an idea or a task, but is more likely to be one of the activities and events that have developed over thousands of years specifically for this purpose. The word comes from the medieval Latin inter tenere, meaning “to hold inside.” The prefix “inter” means “inside,” and the suffix tenere comes from the Indo-European root ten, meaning to stretch or hold.
The Fall 2011 issue of T E News was devoted to the theme, Entertaiment. Click here to read the article.
